About me

Name: Rob Colton

Occupation: Project manager, scrum master (nothing to do with Rugby or BDSM), apprentice writer.

Likes: I am happiest outdoors in whatever weather nature wants to send my way. Not a big fan of summer heat though and I look forward to the spring and autumn. When I am not outdoors I do enjoy technology.

Home: I am currently kept company by 2 Amazon Echo Speakers and 4 Echo Dots from Amazon. You might know them as Alexa, the voice assistant. They can control the heat and lights, pretend to be a dog when i am out and give me a news flash in the morning. They certainly lack the smarts of Iron Man’s Jarvis, but they give me the illusion of power as I order Alexa to turn on the desk lamp.

Other than Alexa I have a few other gadgets and gizmos that propel me into the realm of geekdom. I am an Apple fan boy and my computer of choice is my MacBook Air. There’s an iPad Pro and an iPad that’s used by my son for gaming (he’s 7) and to keep him occupied on long car trips and I have a Windows 10 laptop for running the few Windows only apps I need.

Further geek qualifications are a love of SciFi (Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica – you get the idea) and trading on the foreign exchange markets.

Dogs have been a big part of my life since I was a kid. I love Border Collies and when the time is right, I will be getting a couple to keep me company as I wander the wilds of Berkshire.

Generally talk to me about technology, science, engineering, dogs and Star Wars and we’ll get on fine.
